On Jan. 21, 2017, plaintiffs’ decedent Ainsley Hubbard, 27, a musician, was driving on the northbound side of Interstate 405, in Los Angeles. His brother, plaintiffs’ decedent Aidan Hubbard, 31, a musician, was a front-seat passenger. Their minivan was involved in a head-on collision with a southbound pickup truck that was being driven by Rodney Wright, who had crossed the roadway’s median. The Hubbards’ vehicle resultantly struck another car. The Hubbards suffered fatal . The Hubbards’ parents, Kent Hubbard and Sherrill Hubbard, sued Wright. The lawsuit alleged that Wright was negligent in the operation of his vehicle. Plaintiffs’ counsel claimed that Wright’s blood-alcohol concentration, measured shortly after the accident, exceeded 0.15 percent. Defense counsel conceded liability. The trial addressed damages., Aidan Hubbard and Ainsley Hubbard suffered fatal . Each died at the scene of the accident. Aidan Hubbard, 31, and Ainsley Hubbard, 27, were survived by their parents. The estates sought recovery of wrongful-death damages, which entirely comprised noneconomic damages.
